we left the compound

crawling!
Now that the baby is crawling (did I mention that yet? No? OK, well he is crawling and into everything!) I have re-introduced the play yard of years past. (formerly referred to as the Cisco-free zone. Stroll down memory lane here)
Since it is a novelty, the boy also enjoys playing in there, which basically means I stand on the outside, taking pictures, and thanking my lucky stars they are both contained. Is it wrong of me to hope this lasts a really long time? 
This was pretty adorable, as the Boy was telling the Baby to "be careful baby" because the gate was moving and he didn't want him to fall over. Unfortunately as he was telling him this, he was "patting" (more like whacking) him on the head. Baby didn't care, he just loved the attention!
and for this picture, he really wanted to get in the baby's crib. I know it isn't safe and that he is too big, so please no emails telling me this!
In other news, DM comes home tomorrow. Our basement is a mold pit and I'm never getting teeth. What is new with you???

don't wipe my kiss off!
the boy and I play this game where he wipes my kisses off (sob!) and I just kiss him more and more. Well apparently, he must like this more than I realize because when he thinks I am not looking, he plays it with the baby too! Hopefully you can translate what he says, because it is really cute. They are starting to play together and that makes me very happy!

Monday blues
3 reasons why today STINKS!
- DM is out of town again. Until Thursday. That's a really long week....
- I locked myself out of my car this morning after going to the dentist. Thankfully Aunt Patty lives on the compound and was able to help me out. To answer your question (because I know you are thinking it) no, the children were NOT in the car. That would be illegal my friends. The boy was at school and grandma was watching the baby. Mommy grew 100 new gray hairs today because of this! I definitely need more sleep because seriously, what moron locks their keys, purse, AND cell phone in their car?
- NO more running. Because I have the bone structure of an 80 year old woman, I have serious issues with my foot and was told no more running until after SURGERY. Yep, that is right, i need another stupid operation. If they are going to put me under again, they better fix my knee and suck out the fat because it just isn't worth it otherwise. Needless to say, I am disgusted. And people, if you send me an email or call to say "This is why people shouldn't run" or something of the like I swear I will ban you from this blog and block your email forever! If someone has a heart attack, do you say to them "that is why you shouldn't eat french fries?!" I think not, so don't say something about running to someone who NEEDS to go running. It is my form of therapy and without it, well....I am just crushed.
So that is it. That is how my monday has gone so far. As you can tell, I'm in a great mood but it's my blog and I'll cry if I want to.
Fortunately, this guy is around to help cheer me up.
(although he did ask me to run with the jogging stroller today. sigh. )

Introducing...
we have a new member of the family around here....his name is Fishy. (or shishy)
The boy was ECSTATIC at his new pet and makes me carry his bowl all over the house. Fishy must watch him eat breakfast, play with trains, and take naps. Thank god fishy takes naps!
in other news, the baby just wants to stand all day long. Of course, then his legs get tired...and he gets mad that he can't stand anymore...so he cries, until he can stand again!
He has also started crawling, which really is no fun whatsoever.
