earplugs

just in case the previous video did not convince you, check out the toy that some foolish person gave my child. He walked around the house drumming to his own beat all morning long.

The baby thought it was hilarious, which caused him to squeal as well.

I now have a huge headache that has vodka written all over it!

(note to self: hide/destroy the drum after boy has gone to bed)

get out your earplugs

this is a typical clip from my day. The volume is always set on high, the house is always trashed, and we are always on high alert. No one sleeps without clawing my face off, food goes uneaten, and generally I feel like a beaten dog at the end of the day.

Even with all of that, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
(well, maybe one night of sleep would be nice...)

**don't forget to hit the volume button on the lower left hand corner of the video clip to fully ENJOY all that it has to offer. Make sure your computer volume is not up too loud!**

If you are feeling sorry for me, please consider coming to visit us. DM is out of town for pretty much the next month, making the days very, very, verrrrrrry long for this tired mommy. Thanks!

Weekend wrap up

It was a great weekend filled with sunshine, pools, and parties.

The boy enjoyed the kick off to pool season, despite the water being artic-cold. (Thankfully this whale did not have to submerge herself!)

The baby and I hung out on the sidelines...just dipping in toes.

We ate cake, which I unfortunately had to share with the boy. (happy birthday Uncle Chris!)

and here is another pic of DM and mini-me. Adorable, aren't they? :)

We did it!

The hills were insane, but we all did awesome at our race today! Hooray for us!

After the race we visited some old college hangouts and had lunch with Uncle Jimmy and Hongkun. It was a great day and I think the baby's first words might be "Wahoowa"!

Playdate

We started our Friday off right with a visit from the Boy's girlfriends. He showed off his new playset and then shared his sandbox. It's hard to believe that this time last year he would not even go near sand. (sniff...)

My friend Jen had a grand time giving wagon rides in the yard. Thanks Jen for doing it so I didn't have to! Come back and play again soon!

d. how long before my brother knocks me over because I am touching HIS train table?

We are glad you are back home!

We love you Gma and Gpa, please come visit again. (that means before Thanksgiving!)

weekend wrap up

We had a great weekend just enjoying the spring weather and compound living. Not much else to say, so here ya go with the pics:

Despite biting the playground man, Cisco thinks it is pretty cool too!

8 months and on the verge of crawling. God help me.

We're glad DM is back in town!

hey, when are you coming out to visit us? (aunt Terry?)

Thanks Papi!

We love it--thank you!!

and for those of you who I didn't call in a panic today, Cisco BIT the swingset man. So, if ANYONE would like to give, or find, him a new home---that would be great because I am pretty much over him.

happy

we're pretty psyched it is warm and sunny again, aren't you?

Visit Heart Library

Curious about how your ticker works?

I took a CPR class last night and realized that most people, especially the ones in my class, really have no idea how the heart really works! It is basic anatomy that everyone should know!

So, I found a great new site (that is created in part by St.Jude's hospital) that you really must visit. Heartlibrary.com is your go-to resource for all things of the heart. It has plenty of information about the heart and diseases related to the heart. Most of the information is presented by various doctors in video form.

Curious to see if you suffer from Bradycardia? or how about Tachycardia? Want to hear stories from real heart patients? Then visit heartlibrary.com. Plan to visit for awhile, because it really is very interesting, and informative, stuff!

This and that

Another week of adventure on the compound. We did lots of fun stuff that I forgot to document here. It was fun though, trust me! (Especially since DM was in town!)

  • We wiggled. It's a workout, and one that DM will do too! (are you cracking up from the picture, because I had tears rolling down my face watching this in person!)
Try it out! (and visit Workout Mommy for other fun workout tips!)
  • We played INSIDE of containers. Apparently that is much more fun than playing with the piles of toys that mommy has neatly stored in those containers. Who knew?
  • And we ate carrots and wondered what school cousin Bethany is going to choose? (I think the baby might have a suggestion for you???)

That is about it....what did you do this week?
