A little humor for your Monday morning...
The boy has decided that he too would like to enjoy the jumperoo. He doesn't care that he looks like a giant in it, nor that it hurts his legs when he tries to jump. He is determined to make this one work, and therefore I must video the spectacle that is "THE BOY".
and I share with you. (In case you are curious as to why he keeps turning around, he likes to watch himself in the reflection of the fireplace. )
As always, click the speaker at the bottom for volume.
Happy Monday!

Birthday party fun
We partied with all the other 'rents at the Little Gym today for a birthday party. Oh yea, we are THAT family now!
Anyway, the boy had a blast and was worn out after this event. He loved hanging out with his women, especially 'Cole and Lala.
and like his mommy, he was very excited when he saw the cake. (Oreos! OREOS!!!)

We really had a great time, thanks Jen and Mark!
On other news, don't you think the baby is just TOO CUTE?!

Thankful
The boy really does love the baby and THANKFULLY treats him very well. He helps me get diapers and toys and generally seems to care. Hopefully this will continue because I don't think I could take the stress of them fighting like cats and dogs!
In other random news, the boy really likes to go on outings with DM. I wonder why?

seriously?
Like sand through the deck slats, so are the days of our lives.
I could not resist, sorry. Especially since the boy's name was inspired by a character. and yes, I wanted to name the baby Lucas. Or Stefano. Or John Black.
Obviously, I need to get out of the house more often.

random
I am completely outnumbered. How long before they realize this?
Hopefully not too soon! Here are some other random pics for you to enjoy.
The boy has no idea that the baby plays with his Wiggles guitar while he is napping. It would not be wise to show the boy this picture. :)
Do you think any chocolate actually made it in his mouth? (or are you still shocked that mommy shared her chocolate with someone?)
He STILL does not think they look alike. Perhaps he needs some glasses?

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to all!
The boy enjoyed all of his candy, the baby just wanted to eat the grass, DM watched a lot of basketball and mommy needs to work on that gray streak in her hair.
What did you do?

Easter eggs
It's CRAFT time again my friends, which is always loads of fun around here.
Today's challenge: coloring easter eggs. It went smoother than I imagined and really only took a few minutes. The boy did not want to mess with writing on the eggs or making them multiple colors. He plopped them in the dye and wanted them finished asap.
(note: all the eggs except Mommy's are blue)
Meanwhile---the baby was sitting there thinking "hey! Don't I get to do a craft?!"
Sorry kid, you have to sleep at night to be included in any fun. No crafts for you!

Hello there
From the baby:
I got out of my baby bucket and got my first ride in the cart today. WOW!!! There is so much to look at and touch, when can I get up and run around?
From the mommy:
My baby is growing up!! WAH!!!!!!! (and please ignore the obvious food stains all over my kids clothes. We're not the neatest eater in the bunch!

Outside again!
A rare moment where they are both contained...and happy.
No flowers for us this year as the boy picked off all the buds.
Oh well, as I said....it kept him happy and contained for several minutes. SCORE!
Have you been to Workout Mommy lately? The boy is featured over there today. Go check it out now!

Happy St. Pat's day!
We dressed in green and tonight mommy is going to go face-first into a tub of green beer! Wahooo!!
I can dream, can't I?
and in case you are wondering how the crib/sleep thing is going, does this give you any idea?
From 9-11pm he is in this contraption and for the rest of the night he sleeps next to me.
Not soundly though, which could be why I feel like a truck hit me. All.day.long.

Watch out, the sky is falling!

One of the churches in the area had an egg drop today and the boy was sooooooo excited! A helicopter (pelly-popter) came and dropped easter eggs on a giant field, right in front of our eyes. The boy had one of the best seats in the house! (he is the one right there in front with the flyaway hair and big, giant head)
The kids then all ran onto the field to grab the Easter eggs---which meant that the big and greedy kids scooped them all up and my little guy only got one or two. (thankfully DM was there to throw an elbow!)
I stood back and watched as all the other moms were seemingly dressed to the nines and I once again looked like I had just rolled out of bed. (honestly, do you really need to put on piles of makeup and dress shoes to go to a field on a Saturday morning? Am I missing something?)
Anyway, after getting our egg, the boy was able to spend some time in the bounce castle, which was great until he was told his time is up. We're still working on that listening thing....
****
Today also included a trip to see the family. Papi got some baby snuggles,
as the boy played in the sandbox.
It was a great day all around!

The baby is curious....what are YOU up to this weekend?
Dear Cousin Scott,
Please get better because you are my BFF! I'm glad to hear you are home. Please save me a brownie or 12. Thanks!

One cool boy

Hilarious!
A must read! Click HERE!
I love these little critters, but I sure could use a vacation.
Alone.
By myself.
With no one else.

growing like a weed
I think the boy has gone and outgrown the piece of junk in our backyard!
I have been lobbying for one of those crazily-priced backyard swingsets that everyone on the compound has, but no luck. DM says no dice.
Too poor.
Too many houses that we can't sell or afford. (sigh)
Maybe if you clicked a little more??? Thanks!
In the meantime, we'll enjoy our junk and sticks. :)

Don't even say it!
Nope, he's not spoiled at all.
What can I say? It's been a long winter!
and Toys R Us is a pretty fun store!
as for baby news, I will pay anyone who can come to my house and teach him how to sleep in his crib. This weekend was miserable with NO sleep for anyone.
and even more annoying was there was no success either.
I set him down in the good ole bassinet while I was bringing the boy up for nap time. I was gone MAYBE 5 minutes people, and this is what I returned to! The kid just loves that bassinet! Too bad it wasn't two feet longer.
So, who is up for the "GET THE BABY IN THE CRIB" challenge??
Speaking of challenge, Workout Mommy is having one too...be sure to stop by to check it out!

friday fun day
We had a family outing to the city today to see the "Go, Diego, Go Live" show.
I know people, can you believe I left the compound and went into the city TWICE in one week?
It was tons of fun though and the Boy loved every minute of it. He has never been one to sing, but I caught him singing along with Diego and baby jaguar.
This show was advertising at it's finest as it promoted every Diego and Dora product on earth. I paid way too much money for a piece of plastic simply because it made my little guy happy. Now he will want to watch Diego and Dora until his eyes glaze over, which will make that television empire happy.
The biggest rip off was that you needed a ticket for every human, including one that is only 6 months old. As DM told me "we paid $40 for that seat, at least it can hold our coats and stuff".
Yes, you must cover your face when you realize that you spent that much money just for a coat holder!
Oh well, we had a great family day and that is all that matters!!!

The sunny spot
Don't you just love it when you find a sunny spot on the floor and get to soak up the sun with a good book?
I vaguely remember those days and now wonder how anyone has time to read a book? I guess maybe if mine had pop-ups I would have time?
Oh well, these days I am just a bystander as the boy soaks up the sunny spot. It is all good though because I have this smiley baby to keep me company.

Two tykes in a wagon
Adorable, aren't they?

I didn't get to go running today, but I did get outside. So I'll take it because these little faces make it all worthwhile. :)

Jammie tricks
I have to be sly with the boy these days. When it is time to get our jammies on, I have to lure him upstairs with something like TV in mommy's bed. And then we end up playing there for too long while mommy wonders if bedtime will ever happen. (answer: no)
Anyway, it makes for fun picture time!
When was the last time you did a somersault while getting dressed? Try it out, you might like it!
Just letting the belly hang on out and not a care in the world. Lucky guy!
and aren't these toes adorable?
Don't get too close though, they are pretty stinky.

weekend wrap up
We had a great weekend here on the compound, even the weather cooperated! (I can smell spring...can you?)
Here are some of our highlights:
DM and the boys visited Papi's house, where the boy apparently fell in love with a pet parrot. Can we trade Cisco for this pet, because this one looks a lot cleaner!
we had some cupcakes. Can you tell what color the icing was?
(and can you guess who took the boy to the store and brought these poison-cakes home?!)
We (translation: me) got ZERO sleep because of this kid. I know it is going to take tough love, but could you drop this adorable boy in his crib and just let him cry for hours? (and if you answered yes, then remind me to never let you babysit my baby boy!!!)
and we wrapped up the weekend with a day a the park. Mommy ran (or shuffled) a tough race and DM and the boys showed up to cheer her on. Too bad they were 10 minutes too late, but it is the thought that counts!
