Fortunately, the Boy has not been very jealous of the Baby. Sometimes though, he just has to do what Baby is doing.

honestly, it doesn't take much to make me crack up these days. Sleep deprivation does that to people y'know? Just look at poor Britney. (sigh) Hopefully the looney bin is not in my future. (but then again, I'd get some rest, right?!)

The time goes by way too fast! My little Wahoo baby is now big enough for the infamous Jumperoo. I am creating another quad-zilla!!

Random stuff

As promised, we are continuing our Get fit with the Boy and baby series.
This installment includes some yoga like moves on the aerobic step. Need a lesson in flexibility? Let a toddler show you just how inflexible YOU are. So get up and stretch a little, will ya?

after that, you will do a crazy run thru an obstacle course. Note in this picture just how complex your obstacle course might be. (This is a nice way of saying our house is a toy infested MESS!)

and moving on to our last strength exercise with the baby---an excellent way to tone your shoulders. Hold baby upright and place overhead. Repeat this move 15-20 times. (notice the vulcan death grip and terrified look on baby's face? Do not DROP your baby!)

We had fun!

Many, many thanks to cousin Kristin for visiting us this week! She saved the Boy and the Baby from the dangers of gym childcare. Without her, I would have been a worried, mommy mess!

The baby loved having her to cuddle and spoil him .....


and the Boy seemed to love eating her breakfast everyday. (Despite the fact that I cooked him the EXACT SAME THING that he would not touch with a 10 foot toddler pole!)

Monday

It's Monday again. Let's do a rundown of our week so far:

• still too cold to leave the house? check
• DM out of town? check
• zero people showed up this morning for Mommy's 6:30am spin class? (that she doesn't get paid for if no one shows up?) check and check

Thank you so much for visiting us on the compound today. Our mommy was so happy to see you and hear about life on the "outside". She thinks you look GREAT and hopes that someday she can visit your log cabin.

Thank you also for the cool new toys and for bringing me muffins and donuts. I have been talking about them all day and asking for more. Mommy is thankful that you did not leave them here because she definitely would have eaten them all by now!

Running memories

Back in the day (that would be the day of skinny me-who ran marathons) I would use these on long distance training runs. Ahhh...good times!

Now, however, they are used for juice parties with the Boy. Again, good times. Different, but still good. And no, they are not tea parties, we have juice parties. Mommy has special "juice" that is not to be shared with children, although I wonder here if he got the wrong bottle. Oops!
In other news....
Grandpa, I can't believe you are leaving your namesake behind to go cruise the beach in Florida. Shame on you! (translation: Please, oh please take us with you! Why must you strand us here alone on the compound yet again?!!!!)

More gray hair!

The gray hair keeps on growing---thanks goes to the Boy and his antics!
Yes Mom, I know that "couch jumping" should not be a sport allowed in the house but sometimes I am exhausted and turn a blind eye to whatever might be amusing the Boy. Will it come back to haunt me later? Most likely. He's just that cute though. Especially when doing "No Lips" faces!

The weather gods are taunting me

We definitely got spoiled by the nice weather this past week but unfortunately today we woke up to rain. Combine a rainy day with DM being out of town and the morning just seemed to go on FOREVER!!! (10:04? really, is that it?!) I don't know how other moms do it, but I cannot STAND being trapped in the house. It's like a prison to me.

And don't tell me to go to the mall or something because I am incompetent when it comes to transporting two children out of the house alone. Unless we are going for a walk or to the park, I've never taken them anywhere together...alone. It just cannot be done.

So anyway, after a looooooooooong morning of playing with every toy in the house, it is now nap time (AMEN!), yet I am mocked by this:


Yes, my friends. It is now GORGEOUS outside!! Warm and inviting, as I sit here in my prison cell once again. (sigh)

At least I have you my loving internet to keep me company.
and my jump rope too.

I cannot get enough of this warm weather! Oh Happy day!! We got outside! We walked and played in the sun! Why can't it stay warm like this all year long??!!!

We got to see Grandma! Remember her? Yea, we haven't seen her much. I wonder why?



The boy and the baby enjoyed their first swing ride together. (insert tears here) My boys are growing up!!!!

The Boy gets bigger each day...in fact he looks GINORMOUS in this picture!! He is a great big brother though and always wants to hold the Baby's hand when we are out walking.
He also makes sure to remind the Baby not to cry. Unfortunately, he gets up close to his face and screams "BABY NO CRY!!!" .....which usually makes the baby cry harder.
But he tries though.
and he loves him, which is all that matters.
Because if you can't count on family, who can you count on? Hmmm........

Wrestling a la compound style

Since I am always trying to make extra cash (so we are not homeless), I've decided to start training the boys for the WWF. I am happy to report that their first lesson went very well.

The Boy learned how to hang on to the edge of the ring and the baby learned to fake the "fear of death" look.
Please note: No kids were actually harmed in this experiment. And all went to sleep afterwards. Maybe we should have wrestling in the house every night?

Happy 2008

2007 was a great year that brought us a new car, job, house, and baby.
While it will certainly be tough to beat that, I have a feeling that 2008 will be just as great!

We all partied like rock stars last night, especially the Boy who probably could have stayed awake all night long. He was pretty bummed when the party ended and has been asking all today today "more party"? This could be an issue when he goes to college.....

The baby has started to use a highchair, which is causing mommy some anxiety. How did her baby get so big all of a sudden?
