hi, we're decorating our tree--have you done yours yet?
Can anyone guess what this ornament means?

nada
yea, the week hasn't gotten any better since Monday. Since my mama taught me that "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" ----I'm not saying a word.
Here's some pics for you instead. (man in training!)

Monday woes
Nothing is worse than the Monday after a holiday and when DM goes out of town...again. This is how we feel today. How about you?

Very, very thankful
DM is usually one to leave the sappy posts so I'll be brief.
We are very, very thankful for all the wonderful things in our lives, especially our family. (including the ones not pictured here!)
We had a great time at Aunt Patty's house --where A. mastered the art of DDR and taught Uncle Jimmy a few new moves.
We ate a lot and now have to visit Workout Mommy to get back in shape.
Some of us got massages. Hmmm....where was mine?
Right now, I'm not feeling thankful for Blogger because it will not let me post anymore pictures. Hmph.
Anyway, we hope everyone had as great a Thanksgiving as we did!

Wassup?
A. is one cool kid, ya know?
One cool kid who loves his football.
L is pretty cool too, although he isn't a big fan of tummy time.
That's the update from the compound. What is new with you?

Monday motivation
Have you done some exercise today? I hope so! Don't forget to visit Workout Mommy on a daily basis for some inspiration!
If you ever need a workout, try coming over and getting the boyz bundled up for a walk. It's way more work than it should be but well worth it once I get that sweet breath of freedom outside.
I'm working on inventing a heated bubble that I can wrap around us once the weather is just too cold to go outside. Any ideas??
Here are my little bundles---can't you tell they are excited to get outside?

weekend humor
It's been kind of a down weekend.
One that makes me really hate dryer lint.
So I needed a good laugh and came across this video, which had me laughing so hard I thought I was going to need supplemental oxygen.
Maybe it's because it is so late and I should be sleeping or perhaps it's because I'm so hating dryer lint?
Either way, it's HILARIOUS!!
What do you think?

Mail delivery
Is it wrong to put your toddler in the Pampers box and mail him somewhere?
After all, there are holes in the box.
Of course, I am kidding. Who would mail this cutie-pie anywhere?
***
DM is out of town again, so we are amusing ourselves with boxes and such. Is it spring yet?
No Little Gym tonight. (sob!)
and DM still doesn't think Leo looks like him!
Ummmm....it's as plain as the nose on your face! :)
****
So Leo's baptism is coming up. Are you coming? Don't forget to respond to the evite. I need to know how many boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios to buy. (and don't tell me you prefer regular Cheerios?!)
If you didn't get an Evite, let me know. I'm sure it was just an oversight being that I'm so busy playing with boxes and such!

Soldiers Angels
I got news today that the soldier I "adopted" last year is now home safe and sound! Hooray!!
I won't even comment on my thoughts on this war.....ahem.....but will say that we need to support the sons and daughters that are over there.
Please consider signing up for your own solider. Go here and check it out!

We're back on film
Have no fear, I got a new camera!!!
(but you still need to click, ok? The bill will be here in 30 days. Many thanks!)
Since I know you were very worried that you wouldn't get your Austin/Leo fix for the week, here you go!(look at those toes!!! and cheeks! )
(Austin doesn't go anywhere without his football. )
This is what we've been up to---how about you? Have you been on the outside of the compound?
Do tell, what is it like?!

the camera kicked it
Bad, bad news from the compound. The camera died today, right after taking these pictures. I guess it couldn't stand the cuteness any longer. Can you blame it?
this is Austin going down the slide and since blogger is out to get me tonight, it will not post it properly. Therefore, please turn your computer to the left to fully enjoy.
DM and Austin are big Titans fans and like to wear matching jerseys on Sunday. (did you say "awww"?) In fact, Austin's new favorite thing to say is "PUT-BALL!!" I am still holding out hope that he will play chess, and not putball, in high school!
Good thing this thing is supported by some heavy duty cement. (moo!)
******
Unfortunately there will be no new pictures until we get a replacement camera. I know, it's terrible isn't it? You know how you can speed up that process? Click on those shiny cool ads you see!!! Find a new product, or service. Go explore (click! click!). Help support the camera fund.
Anyone have a camera recommendation? :)

Austin's first date
Austin had his first date tonight! She is a real cutie pie, named LaLa. She came over to our house for dinner and her mom graciously brought dinner with her. (thanks Jen!)
People who come to your house with dinner are just awesome, aren't they? :)
Austin was pretty good about sharing his toys and loved showing Lala around his digs. He didn't want her to climb into his new big boy bed though, which was fine by his mommy!
They dined over mac-n-cheese, that was secretly laced with pureed cauliflower. For dessert, they each had a few bites of a pumpkin brownie.
(can you tell that mommy is trying to get those veggies in there somewhere, thanks to The Sneaky Chef?)
The night ended with a casual hug. A good time
was had by all!
Hopefully Lala and her parents will be interested in having another date very soon.

Not outside, but very close!
Since I am worrying about the upcoming cold weather and being trapped inside, I am wondering if I should transform the garage into a play area. This way we can go outside-- without really being outside.
Right now my garage has an oil stained concrete floor, which is definitely not kid friendly. There is a woman down the street who has her entire garage as a kid play area, with a jungle gym playset and all! I don't know her personally so I try to peer in as best I can when I am walking by. She has a great set-up for her kids and now I have garage envy!
So, I need to get some nice garage flooring and figure out a way to keep the garage warm. Sounds like a fun weekend project, doesn't it?
I am thinking of going with red tile, like seen here. What do you think?

Still a long day, but now with cute pictures
There used to be a time when I left the house and had some fun stories about my adventures to Target or the germ infested mall. No such luck for me (or you!) anymore. Now I'm trapped inside the compound, just trying to stay sane.
I've been trying to figure out why I have a whopper headache right now and just realized it is because I am out of my beloved brown juice (Diet Pepsi). Help me!!!! I need brown juice!!
Yes, I have officially lost my marbles. So before I whine and babble on, here are some fun pictures for you.
(at least someone is using that stupid step....)

Yep, the transition to the big boy bed is taking place. Stay tuned...

Works for Me Wednesday

Today is Backwards Day for Works-For-Me-Wednesday. What does that mean? Instead of me sharing a tip with you, I get to ask all of you a question or two and you are supposed to provide me with a myriad of suggestions .
This is my first time with this, which leads right to my issue.
How on earth do most of you find the time to blog? I read some awesome blogs by moms with 5 or more kids and I wonder how do they do it? I only have 2 little ones and yet I can never find the time to blog and my house is definitely falling in around me. The laundry piles are taller than my son and I can't put a meal together to save my life. (unless you count grilled cheese and grapes a meal.) But that is a post for another day....
So , please tell me--when do you find the time to get to bloggin'?

it's been a long, long, long, day......

Gma & Gpa are also off the compound.
It is too cold to go outside.
Can you hear the panic in my typing?
This might be my new friend.....

Running, the park, and holy cow it is going to get cold and we'll be trapped inside!!!!
Did you catch that Lance Armstrong and Katie Holmes ran the NYC marathon yesterday?
Isn't that awesome!? (sigh)
Back in the day, this mommy ran that amazing race with her cool uncle, as seen in the picure below. Maybe she'll get to do that again someday? (not in those same clothes of course because they sit in her closet mocking her. Look at how THIN I was?!?!!?!?! UGH!!!)
*****
On the homefront, we've been enjoying the nice weather with our daily walks to the park. Leo enjoys a snooze in the stroller while Austin and I hang out at the park. We are always the only ones there which makes me wonder what all these people (in the compound) do all day long? They aren't outside, so where are they? Is there a secret compound club that I am not part of?
Hmmmmm.....
I need to join something because how am I going to function once the weather turns cold and we cannot go outside? Just the loss of one hour of daylight sent me face first into the cookies. (thanks again, Nanny Laura!)
