Today was my day to work in the daycare room and oh boy---it was a NIGHTMARE!!!!
Way too many kids.
Way too many bratty kids!
Way too many loud, bratty, kids!
and one kid who peed on the floor.

Doesn't that sound like a bundle of fun to you? As one Mom asked me "why do you do this?!"
and I was left speechless.
Um, I guess so I can put gas in my car?
So, how about clicking on a zillion ads so maybe I don't have to clean up random kids pee someday? :)

pool time!

Daddy Mike took Austin to the pool yesterday and they had a blast! Austin enjoyed splashing about and whacking people with the pool noodle. (of course!)

He also had fun playing on the various play equipment in Papi's backyard. Mommy will try not to cringe at the bare feet in that grass. (Don't they know a child can get worms doing that!?!?!!)

Someone was apparently wiped out by all the excitement ---and it wasn't Austin!
Yes, he really is sleeping in the middle of the floor and has no clue that there is a 32 lb. toddler on his back. It must be so nice to be a man!

Austin is having a great time wearing DM's shoes. Who knew that a pair of random shoes could entertain him for a good 30 minutes????!!!!

Attention Target shoppers....

Another Target shopping trip, another neat toy. It isn't Austin that wants these things, it's ME!! I cannot resist...there are just too many cool things out there and I must ...I mean Austin must have them!

Today we got a BUBBLE machine. This thing says it shoots out up to 10,000 bubbles and I think I believe it. You turn it on and the wand delivers.
And the screaming (with joy!) begins.

No, there is no unpacking going on. We are solo this week and I barely have enough energy to type right now, much less unpack the cajillion boxes that are all around.
Oh well---who needs to unpack when you can just go to Target and get new stuff??

So instead of unpacking all of our junk, we spent the weekend shopping for new stuff that we can't afford!!! Yeehaw!! We bought some new furniture for Austin and baby X and can't wait to figure out how to pay the bill!
Someday we might even get furniture for ourselves, but this was much more fun.

after hours of stressing, sweating, worrying and pure EXHAUSTION---we are in the new place! I would love to share pictures with you, but I have no idea where my camera is.
Nor anything else I need for that matter.

I found the boxes of pots and pans though. HA! Now those will get used!!

it's official!

we took the plunge today and signed ourselves into HIDEOUS amounts of debt! Wahoo!!! That's the American way, yes?

We haven't moved in just yet (since that would involve packing---hahaha!) but we did bring a few necessities over and showed Austin his new digs.

I think after the initial "where are we?" thoughts, he thought the place was pretty awesome.
We think so too.
Maybe some of you will actually come visit us someday?

Fun in the sun

We had a fun weekend visiting with family members. It was great weather and we spent most of our time outside. Who has time for packing when we can be doing fun things like this???

baby feet, tunnels and STRESS!!

There is just something too cute about baby feet! I guess it is more appropriate to call them toddler feet now but they are still delicious!

I got Austin some "man-dals" (because he is a boy and boys don't wear sandals!!!) and he actually likes them! Here are his adorable little toes peeking out from his new man-dals.

Because we don't have enough toys laying around, Austin now has an indoor tunnel.

It's a novelty that lasts for about 10 minutes and then gets ignored the rest of the day.

Oh well, it's 10 minutes of entertainment and let's me take some cute pics!

I can sum that up in one sentence --
You try packing your entire house (while 6 months pregnant) and tending to a very spirited toddler!!!!!

Moving day is right around the corner and we need to get a fence---thanks to our resident beast.

No big deal right? I've done this before, it isn't really THAT much.
HA!!HA!!HA!! silly me. After all, this is THE compound.
Wood fences are not allowed in this place, only the expensive stuff.

new hat

Austin has his first official baseball hat and he actually likes it! Every other hat I've put on him has been tossed instantly but this one is a hit. Maybe because he sees Mommy wearing one every day of her life? In fact when Austin sees me with my hair down, he does a double take. Pretty sad I know, but who really has time to brush/style their hair?

Anyway, we had an amazing day today enjoying the nice weather. We took several walks, went to a few parks, and hung out with friends. Ole!

weekend wrap up

This was a very tough weekend for mommy. If you don't know or remember why, please don't ask. I tried to drown my sorrows in some sloppy Mexican food and felt terrible for hours afterward. Why is it that our favorite comfort foods always seem to make us feel worse? Anyway, I'm glad the weekend is over and don't want to think anymore about it.

We went to the park today with Miss Belinda and her 3 kiddos. Austin had a great time playing with all the other kids, especially the girls. It was a lot of fun, despite the fact that it was quite chilly out there!! Bring on the warm weather PLEASE!!!

workday

On Thursdays Austin and I work together in the childcare room. It's certainly an interesting experience and Austin generally clings to my leg and refuses to let me hold any other children. (yes, Baby X's arrival will be an adventure, won't it?)

Usually after about 2 hours and a snack, he is comfy enough to roam around and play with the other kids. There are mostly boys there so Austin has a great time with dinosaurs and trains. He talks up a storm to the older boys who constantly ask me "what is he saying?"
Well, your guess is as good as mine!
